Extra information :-  On attestation papers Francis is down as living at 11, Albert Street, Forfar.  He was 46 years and 9 months when he joined up.  He had been in the Royal Artillery, and was discharged by purchase.  He joined up again in January 1915.

I can find no record of his death, and wonder if he died, from wounds, after the conflict.  On page 6 of his Attestation papers there are details of his address being 28, Hospital Wynd, Dundee.  The date then as 26 July 1920.

He was 5ft. 10 inches, with a one inch vertical scar on his nose, between his eyes.  His wife was Marjory Ewart Gow, and when they were married, she lived at Parkhead, Kilry, Alyth.  They married on 6th December, 1901.

When he joined up he and Majory had the following children:-
