The Blairgowrie Advertiser 27th February, 1915, page 7, has him living in Terminus Street, Blairgowrie.

Here is an entry for a John Farquharson, of Blairgowrie, Seaforth Highlanders.  Is it David's father??

Enlisted 1894.  Served in Soudan Campaign. 1898 (medal, and Khedive's medal, with clasps "The Atbara" amd "Khartoum").  Served alsp in South African War ...1900 - 1902 (Queen's medal, with clasps "Cape Colony," "Paardenberg," "Driefontein," "Wittebergen," and "Transvaal"; King's medal, with clasps "South Africa, 1901," and "South Africa 1902").  Transferred to Reserve.
