Henry and Margaret Gasghin Begg married on 21 April 1917 at The Manse, Alyth. Henry was an aerated water bottler, and a Private in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He was 25, and his address was Woodcote Park, Epsom, Surrey, England, which, in WW1 was a centre for military training. His parents were Peter, journeyman mason, deceased, and Jessie Buick, nee Brown. Margaret, 21, was a domestic servant, living at Princeland Farm, Coupar Angus. Her father was William Begg, farm labourer, and her mother was Jane Begg, nee Watson. Witness at the marriage of Henry and Margaret were James Buick and Janet Duncan.

Margaret Gasghin Begg was born on 6 February 1896 at 7.40 am at Parkfoot, Kilry, Glenisla, Forfarshire. Her birth was registered on 25 FEBRUARY, 1896.  

HER father, William, was present at the birth, and was a carrier by trade. Her mother was Jane, nee Watson, and she and William were married on 5 December, 1873 at Northmuir in Kirriemuir, Forfarshire. William, 20, was a ploughman, living at Northmuir, son of George Begg and Jane, nee Watson; Jane, 22, was a domestic servant, also living at Northmuir, and the daughter of James Watson, labourer and Marjory, nee Robertson (deceased). Witnesses were John Begg and Helen Watson.
