His parents were Peter Assenti, wire fencer, and Mary, nee Cox, and hers were William Davidson Meek, carter and Mary Jane ,nee Hamons. Witnesses were James Nolan Jnr., and Annie Assenti.

There is a marriage certificate for a Peter Assenti Jnr., 28, bachelor, of Balgray Dairy, Balgray Road, Dundee and Louisa P Laing, 38, spinster, of Craighall Gardens, Blairgowrie, dated 26 October 1911. His parents are down as Peter Assenti, blacksmith (journeyman) and Mary Esther Cox. The witnesses were Donald McIntyre and Mary Anderson.

In the 1911 census Peter Assenti is down as being born in Milan, Italy, and Mary was born in Oxford, England. They were married around 1883, and had 10 children, all of whom survived. Between 1901 and 1911 the two children born were John cir. 1903, and Carlo, born cir. 1907. Both Peter Jnr., and Dominico were born in England. I think Dominico’s birth might be the one registered in Hull, Yorkshire in the March Quarter of 1889. There is no sign of a record for Peter Jnr., in the Free BDM.
