Allardyce, John - On Blairgowrie War Memorial in the Wellmeadow. In the 1881 census there is an Allardyce in Kettins, which was then in Forfar, but only a mile or so outside Coupar Angus.

John joined up on 11 August, 1916.  On his attestation papers, John is noted as having a fresh complexion with blue eyes and fair hair.

At that time he and Flora were living at 9, Upper Mill Street, Blairgowrie. along with daughter Flora Jane, born in Dundee on 19th March 1909, and son John born in Blairgowrie on 22nd May 1913.

He was wounded in action on 24th April 1917.  John was posted missing on 28th March 1918, and is, for official purposes, registered as having  died on or since 28th March 1918.

He is recorded as having no living relatives except his wife, Flora.
